Welcome to the Springwoods Elementary School Music page. I am excited to be teaching music to all of the children at Springwoods. In music class, we sing, listen, play instruments, dance, and create. Among other activities, the 4th graders will play recorder this year.
About the Teacher
Katherine (Fraiser) Oros grew up in Georgia and attended Shorter College where I received a degree in music education (voice). I went on to study at Florida State University for my Master of Arts. I taught in Buffalo, NY suburbs, then moved to Hampton, VA where I taught for three years. I moved to Woodbridge after my wedding in July 2008. This is my 9th year teaching K-5. Look me up on youtube! I LOVE singing! I teach voice lessons at my home, sing professionally at weddings, and also sing professionally at Old Presbyterian Meeting House in Alexandria. In 2009 and 2010, I coordinated the first and second annual PWCS Music Faculty Recitals. I am the PWEA representative for Springwoods. I am expecting my first baby in February and am so excited! Don't worry- I will be back after a short maternity leave.
About the Maternity Leave Substitute
Jacqueline Stem is a 2010 graduate of Longwood University and has loved music all her life. She is a flutist, guitarist, and singer with a passion for music education. She has previously taught private guitar, flute, and piano lessons to all ages and is currently student teaching at Lake Ridge Elementary. She can't wait to start at Springwoods!
